You might have recently heard about a security issue called the Heartbleed Bug. This bug affects secure website connections that keep your information protected in transit.
We would like to assure you that our Information Technology and Security teams have tested our applications and have found no vulnerabilities to this bug. This applies to any and all Entertainment Partners applications.
You may wish to take personal measures to help safeguard your data by changing your password to websites you may have visited recently.
Entertainment Partners is fully committed to improving efficiency and maintaining your data in the most secure environments. To assure we continue on this path, it has become necessary for us to undertake an infrastructure upgrade. The actual upgrade will occur over the Memorial Day weekend, May 24-26.
To prepare for this and ensure minimal impact to user experience, we will need to perform consecutive downtimes over the next several weekends. Notifications with specific dates and downtimes for impacted products will be sent in the coming weeks.
We are messaging this far in advance in hopes of minimizing inconvenience and enabling you to better plan your work activity.
Please contact Product Support at 818.955.6300 with any additional questions you may have.
Thank you for your ongoing support of Entertainment Partners.
As Entertainment Partners expands its offerings, we will update this Security Statement to address these changes.
VPO Security Overview Keeping your information secure and confidential is one of our most important responsibilities. We want you to know that Entertainment Partners is committed to safeguarding your security and privacy online, and that we strive to make our sites and services as safe and secure as reasonably possible. If you have any additional questions regarding security after reading the information below, please let us know. We want to hear from you! You can email us at email@example.com or call us at (800) 624-3472.
Password ProtectionEntertainment Partners VPO accounts are password-protected so that only authorized users have access. We recommend that you create a difficult-to-guess password that's at least eight characters in length, and that you do not divulge your password to anyone.
You should also remember to always sign out of your Entertainment Partners VPO account and close your browser window when you have finished your work. This is to prevent others from accessing your personal information if you share a computer with someone else or use a workstation in a public place.
Timed Log-offIf you forget to logoff, Entertainment Partners does it for you by terminating your VPO session when you haven't used it for 30 minutes.
EncryptionYour VPO password and all data sent or received from VPO are scrambled using some of the strongest forms of encryption commercially available for use over the Internet. Entertainment Partners uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, which provides 128-bit encryption to all VPO data in transit. SSL forms a secure data "pipe" between the Entertainment Partners VPO servers and the customer web browser -- the same tough, industry best practice encryption that protects customer data for the Internet's largest banking and commerce sites.
Entertainment Partners ensures that all VPO sessions are encrypted. If, for any reason, your secure session ends, your VPO session terminates.
When you visit any web site, you can verify that encryption is being used on a given page by looking for icons in the lower portion of your browser. All VPO-supported browsers provide detailed information on security levels. For example, Microsoft Internet Explorer displays the icon in the lower right corner of the browser. For secure sessions, a closed lock icon will be displayed. For unsecured pages, no lock icon will be displayed.
FirewallsFirewalls block unauthorized access by individuals or networks. Firewalls are one way Entertainment Partners protects our computer network systems that interact with the Internet. Much like its physical counterpart, a firewall protects the inside of Entertainment Partners' computer systems by refusing entry to what isn't authorized. To pass through this checkpoint, your browser must know the protocol to use — in other words, the language to speak — that will allow it to obtain authorized information, but only from designated Entertainment Partners systems.
Computer Virus ProtectionComputer virus protection detects and prevents computer viruses from entering our computer network systems.
Constant Surveillance Entertainment Partners' security team constantly monitors our security systems to make sure that your VPO data is safe and secure.
Physical SecurityEntertainment Partners' Internet hosting facility is characterized by extremely high levels of physical security. All physical access to the data center is strictly audited and the facility is guarded 24 hours a day.
Constant ImprovementsInformation security technology is constantly improving. Entertainment Partners is constantly evaluating and deploying new advances in security technology to ensure that we continue to provide industry-leading protection for your data.
Redundant InfrastructureThe hosting infrastructure for Entertainment Partners VPO includes multiple layers of redundancy and failover protection. As a consequence, Entertainment Partners VPO is highly available – we provide the industry-leading site reliability and the high degree of data availability that our customers require.
Backup of VPO DataAll customer data is backed up nightly and these backups are stored at a secure, remote facility. Even in case of disaster, Entertainment Partners will continue to assure the greatest possible availability of customer data.
