  • Women in Film (WIF) Panel in Park City 2012 - Entertainment Partners sponsored the Women in Film (WIF) panel entitled “Tomorrow Starts Here: Raising Female Voices Through Technology and Creativity” at the Sundance Film Festival. The panel was held at 350 Main Bistro in Park City. (January 24, 2012)
  • 411 Publishing Webinar: "Spotlight on Post Production Incentives" - Joseph Chianese led a panel on post production incentives, bringing together post production executives, who take incentives into consideration when deciding where to complete post on their projects, and post production companies and facilitators, who follow the business and open new facilities in regions that offer incentives in the U.S. and around the world. Panelists included Andy Fraser (VP of Physical and Post Production at Morgan Creek Productions), Marcelo Gandola (SVP at Deluxe Creative Services Group), Jeff Roth (SVP of Post Production at Focus Features), and Ray Scalice (VP and General Manager at Pixel Magic).   • Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation Faculty Seminar - EP's Caitlin Bogert, Franklyn Gottbetter, and Shawn Gillespie conducted a panel at the TV Academy's Faculty Seminar for professors, chairs, deans, and instructors. The panel was entitled "Greenlight Your Career with the EP Advantage" and consisted of an interactive panel with Movie Magic Budgeting and Movie Magic Scheduling demonstrations. (November 11, 2011)
  • American Film Market (AFM) Conference Series - Joseph Chianese led a panel on the current state of independent film financing at the AFM Finance Conference on Friday, November 4, 2011. The session was entitled "Global Infrastructure Opportunities and New Distribution Models," and participating panelists were Leon Clarance (CEO of Motion Picture Capital – a Reliance Entertainment Company), Bill Fay (Former President of Production at Legendary Pictures), Mary Ann Hughes (VP, Film & Television Production Planning at The Walt Disney Company), Bill Johnson (Co-Founder and Partner of Inferno Entertainment), Andrew Matthews (President of RKO Films), and Bahman Naraghi (COO of GK Films).   • BNA/ATLAS: International Film and TV Finance Summit - EP Incentive Solutions' Joseph Chianese moderated the "Current Developments in the Use of U.S. State Tax Incentives" panel. He also participated in the "International Film Production Incentives" panel, which discussed what is available outside the United States in the way of soft money, and new developments in Canada, Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, and emerging markets. (September 22 - 23, 2011)
  • Winston Baker Film Finance Forum East - EP sponsored the Winston Baker Film Finance Forum East in New York, held at the Park Central Hotel. Joseph Chianese moderated the panel entitled "The Art of Structuring a Deal: What Producers Need to Know in Today's Market" on Thursday, September 15, from 8:30 am – 9:30 am. Other panelists included David Acosta (Senior Vice President, Entertainment Department, City National Bank), Dominic Ianno (Chief Executive Officer, Indomitable Entertainment), and Rebecca Roffey (Director, Protocol International).   • 411 Publishing Webinar Series: "Spotlight on Television Production Incentives" - Joseph Chianese led a panel on television production incentives, featuring producers of some of today's most critically acclaimed series, and the film commissioners from the series' primary shooting locations. Featured series include Deadliest Catch, Justified, The Killing, and The Walking Dead. Confirmed panelists include Dave Worrell (Director, State of Alaska Film Office/Office of Economic Development), Amy Lemisch (Director, California Film Commission), Lee Thomas (Director, Georgia Film, Music & Digital Entertainment Office), and a yet to be announced representative from British Columbia Film in Canada.   • A Special Roundtable with Major Antonio Villaraigosa - EP sponsored "A Special Roundtable with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa," an event which discussed production incentives currently being offered by the city of Los Angeles. The roundtable was attended by producers, studio executives, directors, and location scouts, among others. EP signage was prominently displayed, and all attendees received marketing collateral. Vice-President of Marketing Ron Cogan and EP Incentive Solutions' Director of Production Incentive Administration and Finance Shawn Gillespie attended on behalf of EP.   • Peachtree Village International Film Festival - Joseph Chianese moderated the "Finance & Distribution" panel at the Peachtree Village International Film Festival. Panelists included: Chiquita Woolfolk Banks, ESQ (Bennett BT Thrasher), Krys Cameron (SimplyME Distribution), Bernard Coleman, ESQ (Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, PLLC), Eugene Gilbert (Milestone), Tony Kiene (Director, Global X Tax), and Steve Weizenecker (Partner, Lewis, Brisbois, Bisgaard & Smith LLP).   • Albuquerque Film Festival - Shawn K. Gillespie and Victoria Rivera presented a panel entitled "Production Incentives and Production Payroll: Where to get the money for your film and how to handle it." The panel discussed production incentives in New Mexico and the U.S. as well as the key facts for dealing with production payroll systems, including fringes, benefits, and guild and union obligations. (August 18 - 21, 2011)
  • Connecticut Film Industry Training Program - EP Incentive Solutions' Scott Brant spoke on production accounting as part of the Connecticut Summer Film Industry Training Program at Quinnipiac University. By establishing a skilled in-state film workforce, the program hopes to provide an additional incentive to producers to select Connecticut as a location for film and television. In its fourth year, the program is designed for those who want to learn the basics of feature film and episodic television production and potentially pursue freelance work in the industry.   • California Accounting and Business Show - Our EP Incentive Solutions team was on hand at our exhibit booth, handing out the latest edition of The Essential Guide to U.S. & International Production Incentives and our new Incentive Solutions brochures. (June 6 - 7, 2011)
  • Produced By Conference - Entertainment Partners was a sponsor and exhibitor at this year's Produced By Conference in association with AFCI Locations. EP was also a sponsor of the PGA's annual ProShow competition, where the winning producers received Movie Magic Budgeting 7 software and production consulting services. In addition, Joseph Chianese moderated the Tax Incentives Workshop panel on Saturday, June 4. (June 3 - 5, 2011)
  • Filming in the Czech Republic - Joseph Chianese spoke at the "Filming in the Czech Republic" business breakfast hosted by Michal Sedláček, Consul General of the Czech Republic in Los Angeles, with Karel Schwarzenberg, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. Joe and Ludmila Claussova (Czech Film Commission) discussed how filmmakers can benefit from a new production rebate in the Czech Republic. (June 1, 2011)
  • 411 Publishing Webinar Series: "Spotlight on Changes to Policy and Legislation in Central Europe, the Caribbean, and the U.S." - This webinar highlighted the recent changes to legislation and policy that affect the acquisition and use of production incentives in Central Europe, the Caribbean, and the U.S. Moderated by Joseph Chianese, panelists included Dr. Hans Joachim Radau (Tax Incentive Specialty Lawyer, Noerr LLP); Karoly Radnai (Partner, Orienax Consulting, Ltd.); and Stephen Weizenecker (Partner, Atlanta Office of Lewis Brisbois, Bisgaard and Smith).   • Thinking Big: Transatlantic Tax Incentives for Film - Joseph Chianese participated in a tax incentives panel hosted by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) and EP's affiliate, Sargent-Disc. The event provided detail on what types of incentives exist in Canada and the US, and compared them with the incentives in the UK. Other panelists included David Carter (President of Canada Film Capital) and John Graydon (Director of Business Services Film Unit, RSM Tenon Media). (May 20, 2011)
  • Winston Baker's International Film Finance Forum - Joe Chianese moderated the "Tax Incentives and International Subsidies: The Future of Soft Money" panel at the International Film Finance Forum in Cannes.
